MASTER IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND INVESTMENT LAW IN AFRICA

 

 

 

 

A - MOTIVATION

 

        For quite sometime now Africa has suffered or is suffering from a fall in foreign investments and its trade balance with the world is generally not in its favor. This program is intended to contribute in building the human resource necessary to promote and protect international trade and investments in Africa. It centers on world trade and investment with a specific focus on the interests of Africa in the context of globalization. The program aims at providing young professionals, actual or potential, with the skills that are required to improve trade and investments in Africa.

 

B- STRUCTURE OF AND QUALIFICATION FOR THE MASTER PROGRAM

 

            The Master program is made up of Master I and Master II.

            Master I is open to holders of a First Degree in Private Law .Under this condition, access is free.

            Master II is selective. It is open to successful students from Master I with a good academic record. Student intake is fixed each year and will depend on the infrastructures and human resources available.

 

C - CAREER OPENINGS AFTER TRAINING:

 

It is expected that a student who successfully goes through this program will be equipped with the legal arsenals to teach in the University or serve as a consultant to individuals or institutions confronted with problems in this area.

 

D) Admission Requirements

 

Applications for enrolment must be deposited at the Admissions office (Scolarité) between the 1st and 30th of September every academic year. The application file of each candidate must contain the following elements:

Master I

- An application form downloaded and printed from the University website www.univ-dschang.org or platform http://sigesonline-univ-dschang.org .

- Certified photocopy of the Bachelor’s Degree.

- Certified photocopy of Transcripts from levels one to three, for new students enrolling in the University of Dschang and the Third Year transcript for former students.

- Two coloured passport size photographs.

- Certified photocopy of GCE A/L or Baccalauréat certificate for students enrolling in the University of Dschang for the first time.

- A self- address- stamped envelope bearing a 250 Frs postage stamp.

- A receipt of payment of non-reimbursable sum of 10.000cfs frs (Ten thousand) at BICEC Dschang (account n°96186238001-27) for cost of examination of the application file. This sum could be paid at any Express-Union branch upon the presentation of an authorization for payment (quitus) downloaded and printed during online registration.

Master II

 

- An application form downloaded and printed from the University website www.univ-dschang.org or platform http://sigesonline-univ-dschang.org .

- Certified true Copy of Birth Certificate.

- Curriculum Vitae.

- Certified true copy of the Master I certificate or any other equivalent.

- Transcripts of all the levels of the Faculty.

- Two coloured passport size photographs.

- A self- address- stamped envelope bearing a 250 Frs postage stamp.

- A receipt of payment of non-reimbursable sum of 10.000cfs frs (Ten thousand) at BICEC Dschang (account n°96186238001-27) for cost of examination of the application file.
